Cookhouse is a small town in the Blue Crane Route Municipality about one hundred and fifty Kilometres from Port Elizabeth, apparently named by British Troops who marched through the town on the hottest day of high summer. There are a number of farmstays in the area as well as some splendid craft shops in the village.
